Parents are essential partners in school life

At St Francis School, we believe that parental involvement is fundamental to student success. We maintain an open-door policy and hold a variety of academic and pastoral meetings throughout the year. While two formal Parents’ Days take place annually, communication with parents is ongoing.

The Parent-Teacher Association

Strengthening partnership

The PTA fosters a strong sense of community by encouraging collaboration between parents and staff.

Events and fundraising

The PTA supports the school through initiatives such as organising events, fundraising activities and promoting school spirit.

All are encouraged

Parents and guardians are warmly encouraged to get involved, share ideas and contribute to the holistic development of students.

Listening to parents and acting on feedback

Parents are invited to contribute to the school’s annual internal review. Each year, they complete a questionnaire that combines rating-scale questions with open-ended responses, allowing them to share views on various aspects of school life.

Feedback is taken seriously, and practical suggestions are often implemented. For example, parental input led to the introduction of a more comfortable school uniform.

Shared moments that strengthen community

From time to time, the school organises activities that allow parents to participate directly in their child’s learning experience. These include craft sessions, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day celebrations, storytelling events and other themed activities.

School talent shows are held once per term, giving students the opportunity to showcase their skills while parents celebrate their children’s achievements in a joyful and inclusive setting.

Together, we help every child aim high

Through open communication, active involvement, PTA support, feedback and shared school experiences, parents and guardians remain central partners in the life and mission of St Francis School Birkirkara.
